Biography

Born in 1975, Alexander Garros studied literature in the University of Latvia and journalism in Moscow State University. He has worked as the editor of the cultural section in Novaya Gazeta and Ekspert. He currently lives in Moscow and works as the special reporter for the media project Snob.

 

Together with school friend Alexei Evdokimov, he has co-authored five books. They first wrote several joint publications for a newspaper and then decided to take the next step and write a novel together. The result was Headcrusher, which went on to win the prestigious Russian National Bestseller Prize in 2003. The novel is a cinematic, frenzied cyberthriller where reality imperceptibly slides into fantasy. Published in 10 languages, Headcrusher is already electrifying readers across the globe.

 

Garros and Evdokimov's later works continue in their original cyberthriller genre, page turners which at the same time touch on modern life's most acute social problems. Grey Slime, for example is such a bitter comment on society, that the atmosphere it depicts is ominously apocalyptic and deeply disconcerting.
